At first glance, it may seem like a typical shoujo manga. (it is)
The plot of this story was extremely good, not that deep though. First, you will ship Ren and Ninako together and of course not like his girlfriend as a result. But when the author showed the past of how deep Ren his girlfriend's relationship is, you will start having second thoughts. When the love triangle was formed with Andou, I was super confused. The manga showed all aspects of love and that not all love stories have a happy ending. People change like Ren did. I was so sure that Ninako's gonna end up with Andou but there were plot twists throughout the story.
I actually quite liked the character of Daiki's sister. Despite liking Ren, she knew where his heart was and what was good for him and let him go. I mean, not many people are brave enough to let their loved ones leave. It's not like you let your guy go and then just get picked up by another prince charming right?
The characters were pretty much normal like any other manga. There was nothing new. I just liked Daiki as the side character. They were not downright usesless but average.
The female lead, Nanako, made a good FL. She was clumsy, awkward and all but was also sincere and honest at all times. Despite liking Ren, she did not hate Daiki's sister, Ren's girlfriend. She may seem selfish, chasing after a guy who already has a girlfriend but accepts the truth. She knows that she is being selfish and tries to stop herself but soon realizes that she loves him a little too much and what she is trying to do is impossibile. She continues to like him throughout the story, no matter how hopeless her actions are. At first, she was an innocent young girl with just her first love but as the story develops, she gains more expereince. She was weak and whiny but mentally, she was the strongest character.
Ren. His character was a good one. At first, he seemed like a very mysterious character and did not talk too much but was actually a very innocent, confused, sweet and lovable guy. He was a normal guy with a girlfriend he loved and everything was perfect for him until he met Ninako. He noticed his feelings for Ninako but still was dating his girlfriend scared how much she will have to suffer if he leaves her. He was not a very honest person but at the same time, he was portrayed as a very innocent one. He was a normal guy who made mistakes and knew that he was wrong. He looked like a very strong character but I think he kind of broke down and became a very weak one. His character was not my favourite but I guess he was the best for Ninako.
Now we move onto Andou. He was my favourite character in the story! It's been a while since I've fallen head over heels for a character. He was lovely, caring and kind and kep chasing for Ninako, despite knowing that her heart was with someone else. In the end, I was kinda heartbroken when Ninako chose Ren over him but I think it was for the best. Ren did suit Ninako but I still think that he got a lot less than he deserved.
The art was like any other manga. It was good with very creative covers.
Overall, it was a very satisfying on. It is fun to read mangas like this from time to time. You might find it a little boring at first if you've read others similar to to this however, I assure you will love this more and more as the story later continues. Definetely a must read.
