This manga, it is funny and romantic and at the same time tense.
First of all, the sound. I'm specifically starting off with this because it is so good. The opening, it's only instrumental but IT IS SERIOUSLY AMAZING. It is so cool that I did not skip it once and listened to it every damn time. It really gave me shivers down my spine. The backround traditional song that played in some scenes was also admirable.
Also I LOVED the Female Lead, Yona. She had a very headstrong and determined personality, different from the ladies of that time period. She was not a cry baby like everyone is expecting her to be. Despite being a princess and only being familiar luxury and wealth, learns how to defend herself, does not throw tantrums whatever the situation is and avoids depending on Hak. I really love how she stands up for herself and her teammates and did not even complain once when she had to face hardships.
The side characters also have great personalities. Their back stories are well explained and play an essential role in supporting Yona. The male lead, Hak's character, is also a badass yet caring one. He is the most sensible one in their group I feel.
The art's pretty good. Especially the backgrounds and the sceneries, they're breathtaking.
The serious scenes fit well with the flow. Everything is well explained and at the same time, there is mystery and curiosity. You know a manga is good when you read the release as soon as you get out if bed. It certainly is worth your time. I'm so delighted that I did not ignore this one.
